For nonprofits, events, and service programs

A simpler volunteer sign-in and checkout app

Turn an iPad, iPhone, or Android device into a self-service volunteer sign-in station. Collect the right details, track repeat attendance, and optionally record checkout and visit duration.

Choose how you want to start

Create your organization on the web, or install the kiosk app on an iPad, iPhone, or Android device.
  • Free web account to get started
  • Optional volunteer checkout
  • Live attendance and CSV export

Less clipboard coordination

Know who arrived without rebuilding the roster later

The check-in process should support the service work, not become another task for the people running it.

Volunteer arrivals happen all at once

A guided station lets people enter their own details while coordinators stay focused on orientation, assignments, and the work ahead.

Paper cannot show who is still checked in

Optional checkout creates a clearer operational record of arrivals, departures, and visit duration without maintaining a second roster.

Recurring volunteers deserve context

Visit history helps the organization recognize returning volunteers and keep attendance details together across service days.

A complete attendance record

From volunteer arrival to a useful visit history

Collect only the details your program needs, optionally record checkout, and follow attendance from the live dashboard without turning check-in into a complicated volunteer-management system.

01

Ask the right questions

Choose email or phone as the volunteer identifier and add reusable prompts for interests, teams, programs, or orientation needs.

02

Make checkout automatic

Set a checkout window. A volunteer who enters the same identifier again can close the open visit without answering the full form twice.

03

Review attendance live

See arrivals and departures appear without refreshing, check the current count, and open visit history for status and duration.

A repeatable attendance flow

Use the same three-step process for every volunteer day

MemberMaker handles the attendance record while your team handles orientation, assignments, and support.

  1. Set up the volunteer experienceChoose email or phone as the identifier, add the questions your program needs, and optionally set an automatic checkout window.
  2. Let volunteers check themselves in and outPlace the device near orientation or assignment pickup. When checkout is enabled, returning within the window with the same identifier records departure.
  3. Review the attendance recordSee live arrivals, current checked-in count, visit status and duration, then export the records for your approved follow-up workflow.

Neighborhood cleanups

Common questions

Volunteer check-in and checkout FAQ

Can MemberMaker track repeat volunteers?

Yes. New visits can be associated with an existing person, helping coordinators recognize volunteers who return across programs and events.

Can volunteers check themselves out?

Yes. Checkout is optional. When enabled, a volunteer enters the same email or phone again within your configured window and MemberMaker closes the open visit without repeating the full form.

Does visit duration verify service hours?

No. Check-in, checkout, and duration provide an operational attendance record. They are not a certification or approval system for verified service hours.

Does MemberMaker schedule volunteer shifts?

No. Continue using your scheduling system for shifts, assignments, reminders, recruitment, and capacity.

Can volunteers check themselves in?

Yes. Put a phone or tablet at the arrival table in fullscreen mode and direct volunteers through the guided sequence.

Can we export volunteer attendance?

Yes. Export contact details, check-in and checkout times, status, and duration to CSV for an approved spreadsheet or volunteer workflow.
